My then & now story
My start was in Interior Design at the University of Kansas. From there I went into the kitchen and bath industry, leading design and sales for a local company.
I've always been passionate about problem-solving and experiences. This led me to switch gears, go back to school, and earn a Master of Arts in Interaction Design.
I've since traded Kansas City for ocean and sunshine on the West Coast. Along the way I've shipped B2C and B2B products across wellness, restaurant, supply chain, and enterprise data, from early-stage startups to global enterprise.
I'm running a UX/UI consultancy, working hands-on with teams on design and product strategy. My focus is early-stage ventures, but I flex to more established teams when the problem is right. Day to day, that means staying close to the actual product decisions, not just the deliverables.
Who am I in the design world?
I love tackling complex problems. The more we don't know, the more excited I am to dig in deep and figure it out.
I'm big on getting to know users and stepping into their shoes to understand how to create the right experience for them.
When it comes to design, discovering the inconsistencies and patterns and approaching the whole system holistically is what matters most to me.
I'm direct with feedback, because it's key to building a solid relationship. My approach is to stay tactful and actively listen.
I'll be your biggest cheerleader and support you, but I'll also push you to be the best version of yourself.
I like to stay close to the product work, so I can be sure decisions affecting the team are thoughtful and make sense.
Who am I after office hours?
I experience life through food and always save room for dessert. (And I'll shamelessly document it.)
I love adventuring to places I've never been and circling back to my favorite spots.
I'm all about the sunshine, the ocean, and the quirky local events that Los Angeles has to offer.
